Project studies
Understanding the issues
A project is not simply “something you’re thinking of doing”. A project relates to company strategy and needs to be completed in the planned timescale and with all the expected results. At first it is the statement of a simple goal: the validation process consists of examining the relevance of the project, the financial case , its impact on the company and
the resources required for successful completion. To do that, we need to get to know your company, its strategy, its resources and its environment.

Our contribution
This phase initiates the project and brings together all the stakeholders to ensure a common
understanding. The project team will remain unchanged during the life of the project and will of course treat the project as completely confidential.

Critical analysis
In this phase, basic questions are asked: does the project really take the company to forward? Does the proposed product exist elsewhere already? Are there any legal or regulatory obstacles? Our aim is to evaluate the gap between what exists and the situation you intend to create, and the difficulties you can expect to encounter as you move from the initial state to the final state.

The study phase
At this point we check the viability of the project (Is there a market for the product? How favorable is the competitive, technological and economic environment?), undertake the financial analysis and assess investments, risks, training and partnerships. We define the project scope with you so as to avoid unnecessary complications or costs. Blocking factors are also identified. Many projects (IT developments, control systems, etc) require a distinction between functional analysis (tasks to be provided) and technical design (which compares all the possible ways of achieving the result).Pulling all these threads together in a single document ensures that there is a valid business case for the project.

Project management
Once the project’s viability is established, we draw up the project plan with its phases and the milestones that will allow you to monitor progress: all tasks are scheduled with their dependencies so as to reach the expected result in the planned timeframe. Close collaboration between all participants and stakeholders is indispensible if each phase is to be scheduled realistically. The approach is not unlike quality assurance: constant optimization of the conditions for success measured against evolving company practices (new technologies, new procedures, change management). The result is a “project file” containing the plan of action. It is presented to all stakeholders for their collective approval.
