Innovative mechatronics 2009

Tools and synergies in the transportation industry

December 15-16, 2009, Paris

Conference & training session organized in partnership with Thésame, Supméca and the magazine Pour la Science.

Transportation systems are complex by nature (they are often called “systems of systems”) and are big users of subsystems combining very closely mechanics and electronics. Controlled by embarked computers implementing a control strategy, they are known as “mechatronic systems”. Today, the main problem of mechatronics is the availability of tools allowing to design them properly, so that they meet the requirements in an optimized way, all techniques taken together. The purpose of this conference & training session is to make us aware of the transportation industry’s experience (kinds of mechatronic products, designing issues…) but also to bring a beginning of answer to people wishing to deepen their knowledge in the mechatronic design process. Teacher-researchers from engineer schools, at the cutting edge in the field of mechatronics, will present their mechatronic know-how.
